Possible get-together on 15-16 May?

[PF] Posting below emails from Padge and Dave Edmunds, re possible get-together on 15-16 May....

[SP email of 2nd May]:
Dear mates, I am forwarding this e-mail from David Edmunds to those who might like another opportunity to get together on the weekend of 15th/16th May. Do a reply to David ASAP so he knows if he should go ahead with the booking. You can count me in David, I hope we can get a quorum.

Of interest to you will be an item in to-day's Canberra Times.
Faux hopes to race up the standings after a wild week.
Canberra Diver Barry Faux and navigator Therezia M.. go into today's final stage of the Targa  Tasmania rally looking to improve on their 7th placed standing in the outright classic category. ....."it left a lot of oil on the road and we've come round the corner, spun out backwards and taken the back of the car off
"...they have moved to fifth in the classic handicap standings  etc etc
Barry has I believe won this race and has done well when he regularly competes.
Alan Gould featured on ABC radio last weekend oin their poetry spot with a sea theme.
Cheers for now,
Steve Padgham

Hello Stephen

I rang the manager of our ski club in Perisher, and the entire club is free on the weekend of the 15th of May.

Functions of this sort are often held at the club.  There is sleeping space for around 25 people, most in rooms, some in four-bed rooms, some in two-bed rooms, some elsewhere.  It’s a ski club.  The cost is $15 per person.

There is a huge commercial kitchen and we do our own thing.

I know it is short notice, but if there is some interest I need to confirm the booking by Wednesday.

It can be a wonderful place to be at this time of the year, crisp and beautiful.  On the other hand, the weather can be crook, in which case you just have to sit by the fire with a drink in your hand and watch the storms move down the valley.

The suggestions is that we arrive sometime on Saturday afternoon.  People may wish to drive up to Charlotte’s Pass and walk or ride a bike to Kosciusko, or walk in the Perisher region, or sit in the club and chat.

We will arrange our own food and do a celebratory dinner.  I am volunteering to look after this, and suggest a cash donation.

You will need to bring a sleeping bag and drinks, probably quite a few.

We will have a casual breakfast on Sunday morning, and a bit more talk and leave sometime before lunch.

Let me know what you think, you are the social secretary.

Cheers,

David
